Children is this room experience the increased interest in joint play such as make-believe, staff encourage construction games, toys, books and listening to stories thus helping your child to learn the importance of social skills of sharing and cooperation. Your child will still need the comfort and security of our key worker system thus creating a warm relationship with a staff member, this in turn forming a basis for much learning and encouraging your child in areas such as eating, dressing and toileting. The process of potty training becomes a joint project where the key worker works alongside the childs parents so that it becomes a smooth successful process. Your childs language starts to develop rapidly and with the guidance of experienced staff your child will soon join in conversations, praise from staff and encouragement from parents helps to build your childs self esteem. Developing physical skills means that your child can walk, climb and run, and join in active play with the other children.
Our outdoor facilities spread over 14 acres of open countryside containing adventure play areas, a mini farm and spacious fields ideal for picnics, and nature projects. This is such an important time for your child to learn with the guidance of staff about dangers and safe limits. Children from this age and over the next few years are able to take full advantage of our outstanding outside learning facilities. Improvements are always being made so that new learning experiences for the children are always taking place.
